Every person was made to SHINE!
The SHINE Initiative was created to remind youth and their families that they were uniquely created, made to SHINE. It is designed to encourage youth, their families, and their mentors to come together and share real experiences, guidance and inspiration.
Everyone knows that the teen years can be a time of trials and tribulations and these days the pressure seems to be greater than ever before. Many feel like the whole world is against them and that no one knows what they’re going through. Teens are trying to fit in, be cool, get everything done while their parents and mentors struggle to stay relevant, teach valuable lessons, and still check off everything on the day’s to do list. It can be overwhelming.
Every family goes through it.
But in a world darkened by doubt, The SHINE Initiative wants to remind you to SHINE from the inside out.
There is a lot going on in the life of a teen today and those who care for them need to know what’s going on in their lives, how to stay connected, and how to talk to them in a way that won’t have them tuning out.
The goal of the SHINE Initiative is to remind everyone that they were made to SHINE…or maybe…tell them that for the first time!
It doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a choice you have to make!

SHINE Statement of Faith
The SHINE Initiative is an inter-denominational, bible-based ministry that seeks to help women grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and through that, lift one another up to SHINE in His name.
WE BELIEVE …
The Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God. (2 Tim 3:15-17, 2 Pet 1:20-21, Psalms 119:89)
"There is one God, creator and ruler of the universe. He exists as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; As three persons, One in essence." (Deut 6:4; John 10:30; Acts 20:28)
In Jesus’ virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His crucifixion and His resurrection. (Isaiah 7;14; 2 Cor 5:21, The Gospels according Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Romans 3:25, Romans 5:8, 2 Peter 2:24)
Jesus Christ, the son of God, offered himself as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. (Isaiah 7:14 -15, Luke 2:29-39, Romans 1:1-4, Romans 5:8; Eph 1:7; 1 Thess. 4:14, Hebrews 7:25, 1 Peter 2:22-24, 1 Peter 3:18)
In the forgiveness of sins and eternal salvation by grace through faith. (Romans 10:9, Eph 2:8-9)
We believe that it is our duty as Christians to seek and be filled by His Holy Spirit and serve an obedient life in HIS name. (Eph 1:13-14, Eph 2:10; 2 Tim 3:17)
Through large group worship and small group study, The SHINE Initiative is designed to bring God’s message to light and in the lives of women young and old and through that encourage them to SHINE as God intends.
SHINE ON in Faith
We believe that God intends for us to SHINE His light onto others so that we may understand one another, love one another, accept one another and teach one another as He does. The SHINE Initiative focuses on the scriptures that relate to God’s love for His daughters.
Girls and women are intricately and uniquely created. As described in Psalm 139 and referenced specifically in Psalm 139:14 which says we are “fearfully and wonderfully made…”
God has a plan for His daughters. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
God has equipped us to SHINE. “For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” may his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of knowledge and the glory of God in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
God has given us permission to SHINE. “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” Isaiah 60:1
We are called to SHINE. “Do everything without complaining, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked, depraved generation, in which you SHINE like stares in the universe as you hold out the word of life- in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.”
God will make those who do His will SHINE: “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. “ Daniel 12:3
The SHINE Initiative is meant to bring God’s word to women young and old. “Likewise, teach the older to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of god.” Titus 2:3-4
A virtuous character is the most important attribute of a girl or woman. “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:30.
We hope SHINE will encourage women to SHINE ON.
